Pembroke Castle Wales - JMW Turner 1826

After business Linda and Stuart gave an illustrated talk 'When Turner Came to Pembroke' - emphasizing the great artistic heritage we have here in Pembroke, something we do not boast about.
So many of the great topographical artists came here in the 18th and 19th Centuries to paint the Castle, paintings which were later made into engravings.  There are several Turner paintings of Pembroke but he actually only came here once in 1795 - his paintings were made at a later date from copious notes and sketches made during that visit.
